One in 3 people with COVID-19 do not experience any symptoms and may be spreading the virus unwittingly. Rapid testing detects cases quickly, meaning positive cases can isolate immediately

COVID-19 lateral flow antigen tests allow the detection of people with high levels of the COVID-19 virus, making them effective in identifying individuals who are most likely to transmit the virus, including those not showing symptoms.

With up to a third of infected individuals not displaying symptoms, broadening asymptomatic testing is an essential part of the nation’s fight against COVID-19. Increased use of lateral flow devices (LFD) can help identify more people who are highly likely to spread the virus, and therefore break the chain of transmission

About 1 in 3 people with coronavirus do not have symptoms but can still infect others.Getting tested regularly is the only way to know if you have the virus. If people test positive and self-isolate, it helps stop the virus spreading.

Anyone in England who does not have symptoms can now get regular rapid lateral flow tests to check for coronavirus.

People aged over 18 without symptoms will be able to visit this pharmacy and collect a box of 7 rapid tests to use twice a week at home.

You can get rapid tests to do at home.

If you do tests at home, you’ll need to report your results online or on the phone

You should do two test per week.

Each kit will give you 3 weeks of tests

There is no minimum age for use

If testing at home, individuals will need to register their results online or by calling 119.

People undertaking a test can phone 119 for assistance with using the kit or to register their result

You should self-isolate if positive and order a confirmatory PCR test.

Anyone testing POSITIVE or with symptoms of COVID-19 should book a test online or by calling 119.

This helps the NHS identify areas where asymptomatic cases of COVID-19 are rising
and declining so we can all keep each other safe.

Rapid testing helps us find COVID-19 cases that we wouldn’t otherwise know about, helping to break chains of transmission. These tests are effective in detecting people that are infectious and therefore most likely to transmit infection to others

All instructions can be found in the kit and you can also watch the video below
